So while I was in Minnesota our ward clerk calls up Nic and tells him the bishop wants to meet with him. So Nic makes an appointment for the Sunday I am out of town. Nic had gone down to St. George with his family that weekend to watch his little brother play in a baseball tournament. So on Sunday he made sure to hurry back up to Provo so that he could meet with the bishop. When he gets there the bishop is like, "uh, where is your wife?" Ha ha! So, Nic reschedules for the following Sunday when I would be back in town.
Then the ward clerk calls Nic again and wants to reschedule for Tuesday and not wait til Sunday. So now we are freaking out wondering what the heck kind of calling he or I are going to get. We could not meet on Tuesday so we scheduled for Wednesday but then the bishop gets sick so we end up sticking to our Sunday appointment in the end.
By the time we finally meet with him Sunday after church we find out that I am called to be the new.........
wait for it.....
are you ready for this.......
YW PRESIDENT!
Wahooo, I am so excited! I have only been in the calling for a couple of weeks now and was set apart yesterday but I love it already and tell I am just going to love being in YW more and more every day. I was really scared and intimidated at first but the girls are all so sweet and I love my presidency!
So anyways, I know that was a long story but I thought I would try to build up the same anticipation that we were feeling at the time.

So much to comment on! That story about the peas is too funny! Macey loves her green veggies as well. I can't believe how big Nixon is getting, and still just as cute!
Good luck in your new calling! You'll do fantastic! Its a TON of work and can be stressful, but I don't think of something as work when I love it so much...I'm sure you'll feel the same. How many girls do you have? :)
There are 10 girls but 3 of them are not so active...yet:) So it is a small group of girls which makes me feel a bit less overwhelmed.
You will be wonderful at this new calling. I was 21 when I was a YW president for the first time. It will always be my favorite place to serve! Surround yourself with wonderful women to help and it will make your job so much easier!

Wow! YW President! You will be awesome! I am for sure glad it is you and not me. I was put in the presidency when we first got married and I loved it. We had an awesome president so that helped! I am sure it will be a lot of work but a lot of fun! You know where you have to go from here, right? j/k
