...apparently a large truck took the corner too fast at the intersection one block from our house and rolled the truck hitting a power line and knocking it and 7 other power lines over. This picture does not do much justice. There were power lines and poles lying all over the road for like a half mile stretch. You can see the truck on it's side up on the curb. It was full of Stouffer's frozen pizzas wich were all over the place. We did not have power for a full day. They told us it would probably take 2 days but they called in extra help to get the job done quicker.
The bad part about not having power was the fact that we needed to do a lot of work on our kitchen before the cabinets were to be installed the next morning. What a headache it is to live in a house that looks like this!
On top of all the fun we had without power and tearing apart our kitchen in the dark, we had car trouble. We had gone out for dinner Wednesday night (since that was pretty much our only option with no kitchen and no power) and I ran inside to get ready for Mutual and then ran right back outside and my car would not start. Turned out to not be a big deal to fix but I was worried because we had just replaced the windsheild before we left for California, got new tires while we were in California, needed to do safety and emissions so that I could get the car registered and still needed to fix the tail light before I could even pass safety. So it was just like one thing after another.
