28 Days of LOVE

For every day in February I am going to post something that I love. Since Valentine's day is in February I thought it would be something fun to do. So anyways, I hope you have fun reading these :)

Feb 28: Being crafty.

Now that I am a SAHM (well, for the most part), I enjoy finding new fun and cute crafts to work on. I have made many vintage holiday plaques for friends and neighbors. I have a new obsession with felt. I will post some of my creations in later posts.

Feb 27: Simplicity.

I love simple things. Simple directions, simple meals, simple conversation, simple crafts, a simple life, etc. Not that a challenge isn't good for me every now and then but I really enjoy a simple life. This black dress is just a symbol for simplicity.

Feb 26: Road trips.

I love long drives. I think they can be really relaxing. Whenever we drive to California we check out some books on tape and listen to them in the car. It's a good start to the vacation that awaits us.

Feb 25: Being able to prepare meals ahead of time.

By the time it's close to dinner time I never feel like actually make dinner. I'm alway feeling tired and lazy between 4 and 5 p.m. So Whenever I get the chance and I like to make a meal that I can prepare in the morning and then just throw in the oven later in the evening right before dinner. Chicken pot pie is one of those meals.

Feb 24: Homemade bread.

Yum! My Grandpa Kelly used to always (maybe he still does, I don't know) make homemade bread. I loved it!

Feb 23: Storage baskets.

When you live in a tiny house that was built in 1927 storage baskets are a must have. You really have to be creative and clever to find new ways to keep things organized and to create more "space" in your home. Just bought these baskets half off at Joanne's. No regrets.

Feb 22: Coconut M&M's.

Have you tried these yet? So good! And some of the M&M's have cute little pictures on them.

Feb 21: Being productive.

I love the feeling of accomplishment like I actually did something productive during the day instead of just chasing around a 1 year old boy and changing dirty diapers. Sometimes I will procrastinate certain things so when I finally buckle down and get something done it feels great.

Feb 20: Bed at night.

There is nothing like crawling into a cozy bed at night after a long exhausting day. I can never hold back a smile as I pull the sheets up to my face and rest my head on my pillow. That's no lie. You can ask Nic. He laughs at me every time.

Feb 19: Party planning.

I love planning parties! I like to think of all the cute and creative things to make a party themed and fun. I hope my kids will like bringing their friends home to hang out and "party" at our house wether it's for a birthday, dance, or just to hang out.

Feb 18: New ideas.

There is just something so refreshing about a new idea.

Feb 17: This lotion.

So I have very dry skin especially in the winter time. It was so bad growing up that I would scratch my legs in my sleep or wake myself up scratching my legs because they itched so bad. I would always have terribly embarrassing rashes on my legs but I could not keep my self from itching my legs. So I was taken to the doctor a couple of times to have it looked at and they would prescribe me special creams and lotions to cure whatever it is that I have/had. Nothing ever worked until...my mom discovered this stuff that can only be purchased at Sam's Club(at least I've never seen it anywhere else.) It has saved my legs and my life!

Feb 16: Sushi.

Yum!

Feb 15: A new pair of jeans.

They just look so cute and fit so perfectly when they are new.

Feb 14: My valentine.

I love this guy! He knows how to make me laugh and smile. He is a hard worker, and determined to be successful. He is the best handy man around. He is a wonderful dad and husband. He is unselfish. He is tall, dark, and handsome. What else could a girl ask for?

Feb 13: Fresh make-up.

I love putting on a fresh face of make-up and feeling beautiful. No, I don't wear a ton of make-up and some days I go with out any make-up at all. But it feels and looks the best right after you've put it on. Then, by the end of the day, there is nothing better than washing it off your face because it seems to look and feel so terrible and gross. Kinda weird, I know, but there's gotta be some other girls out there that feel the same way. It's a love/hate relationship with make-up I guess :)

Feb 12: Tulips.

Love, love, love tulips! I will be very excited once March rolls around and my tulips start popping up in the yard. Also, I am determined to make it to the Tulip Festival this year at Thanksgiving Point. Been saying that for years but this year I will definitely go...no excuses!

Feb 11: Being a mom.

I love my little boy! He is the cutest thing ever. I know he looks concerned in this picture (he did not really like the free photo shoot at Sears...ha ha) but today he is sick and really just wants me to love him and hold him all day long so I thought this picture was appropriate. Even though he has puked all over me 4 times today I still love him to pieces.

Feb 10: Sunny days.

Even if it's still cold outside, I am so much happier when the sun is out. We have had a few sunny days and Nixon's favorite thing is go for walks outside (holding my hand because he won't walk by himself) and pick up all the sticks and leaves. I think he will be a great help when we start having to do yard work in the spring!

Feb 9: Remembering.

Last night Nic and I were remembering some funny things that happened while we were dating. Not only is fun to remember things that happened in the past but I also love remembering to do things like taking out the garbage the night before the garbage truck comes in the morning.

Feb 8: Throwing things away.

I have no problem throwing things away...in fact, I think I feel a sense of pleasure and accomplishment when I throw things away. It is my way of "de-junkifying" my house. I have to do it when Nic is not around though:)

Feb 7: Yoga Pants.

Probably the most comfortable pants you can wear and still look cute. I lived in them the last two weeks of my pregnancy :)

Feb 6: A clean and orderly house.

Wish my house looked this good all the time:) Saturday is my cleaning and laundry day so maybe by the end of today it will?!

Feb 5: Afternoon naps.

I am going to go take one right now :)

Feb 4: A good book.

Just finished this book last week. It was amazing!

Feb 3: The temple.

Every Wednesday morning my neighbor, Melissa, and I wake up bright and early to go to the temple before the babies are awake and the hubbies are off to work. I love feeling close to my Heavenly Father and the peaceful feeling inside the temple. I am so blessed to live so close to the Provo Temple and to be able to go so often.

Feb 2: To-do lists.

Not only can I not function without one, but my favorite part is checking something off the list! And now that I have finished posting something that I love for today I can check it off my list :)

Feb 1: A hot, very hot, shower.

Today I took a really long, hot shower while Nixon was napping :)

Thank heaven for a tankless hot water heater in our home. I take such long hot showers I know I would use up all of the water of a regular one!! Sid is the worst one though! He has no hair so what is he doing so long in there??
(Don't answer that!)

i love hot showers! by the time i'm done with my shower i'm usually as red as a lobster from the hot water. and i am totally a to do list person as well. i make a new one everyday. i even make them for mark sometimes, but they don't seem to help him like they do me.

That is a cute idea. Great way to think positive and get thru this cold winter. I also like the hot showers, but I'm always thinking about how much it is costing to just stand in the water, but I will do it on those stressful days that I'm just have a bad day, I feel like I deserve the extra long shower. I also like the to do lists, i leave them in my head until I have too much to do then I have to write them down.

I love this. When school is not dominating my life, you shall help me to be cute and productive like you.

I think I have to agree with everything you've posted thus far. Especially the remembering...i was reading old blog posts and I'm just so glad i'm writing things down...because I forget things so easily.
