Nixon turns 1

Here is Nixon this morning on his first birthday. He woke up a little earlier than normal. I guess he just couldn't wait to celebrate! We started the day off by singing the birthday song to him.


I let him open his birthday cards from Grandma/pa Kelly and Great Grandpa/ma Scott. He actually really enjoyed looking at his cards for quite some time and didn't want to let go of them. And then saw them later sitting on his book shelf and insisting on playing with them again!



Then we went and visited our neighbors Patty and Henry Gurule. They love Nixon! After that Nixon crashed for a 3 hour nap (happy birthday to me...ha ha).


Then after lunch I took him outside for a quick swing since the sun decided to come out today. He was not really in the mood to swing today for some reason so we just headed on over to visit dad at work. He showed off for all the girls at work and walked around a little bit on his own.



Once dad finally came home from work we let him open a present (wrapped in a blanket). A farm animal puzzle that makes sound! He loved it and played with it before he went to bed.



We are going to have a puppy dog themed party on Saturday with a couple of his friends and Nic's family so he still has more fun to look forward to.
